En plus du cordon ombilical, du tissu cordonal et du placenta, il existe une autre possibilit\u00e9 : le <strong>sang p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique<\/strong>, celui qui circule chaque jour dans nos veines.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 partir d&rsquo;un simple pr\u00e9l\u00e8vement, on peut isoler les <strong>cellules mononucl\u00e9\u00e9es du sang p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique (PBMC, Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells)<\/strong>, un ensemble de cellules immunitaires \u2013 comme les lymphocytes et les monocytes \u2013 qui, \u00e0 premi\u00e8re vue, semblent \u00ab\u00a0communes\u00a0\u00bb. C&rsquo;est, en substance, ce qui se passe avec la <strong>reprogrammation cellulaire<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette d\u00e9couverte, qui a valu le <strong>Prix Nobel \u00e0 Shinya Yamanaka<\/strong>, les cellules sanguines p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques (PBMC) peuvent \u00eatre transform\u00e9es en <strong>cellules souches pluripotentes induites (iPSC, Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells)<\/strong>.
